In cases of glandular gynecomastia, incisions are often made in the underarm, under the chest, or at the areola to remove the glandular deposits. If excess fat is the primary symptom of gynecomastia (also known as pseudogynecomastia), our surgeon may choose to combine a liposuction procedure, or in some cases only use liposuction, to eliminate the fat deposits and achieve a firmer, flatter chest.

To assist with recovery, a compression garment may be recommended to be worn for several weeks to protect your incisions and reduce swelling. Most patients can return to work within one week after surgery and resume moderate activities within two to three weeks. Strenuous activities should be avoided for a minimum of four to six weeks. It is very important to follow all post-operative guidelines to achieve a smooth recovery.
